Zephyr Dear is one woman’s creative interface with the natural world

Hi, thanks for stopping by. My name is Melissa Marczak and I am an artistic soul. I currently live in Northern British Columbia with my husband, son, and five house rabbits.

I’m constantly inspired by the natural world; changes in seasons, the weather, wild plants…

I enjoy a wide variety of mediums: pen and ink, watercolour, gouache, acrylic, felt, natural dye screen printing, and wirework. I am an enthusiastic beginner in clay and jewellery work.

At the moment my creative work is somewhat on hold while I focus my attention on parenting my baby. Over the next few years I hope to immerse myself in the world of children’s illustration.

I have some hand screen printed tea towels on display and for sale at Rhubarb on Salt Spring Island (I think they are there still?!) and in the past have shown and sold my fibre art at Touchstones Nelson, Toronto One of a Kind Show, Nelson Marketfest, Still Eagle, Tara Davis Boutique, and The Unique Boutique.

Please contact me if you are interested in my work or if you just want to say ‘hi’.
